Dear Friends and Neighbors,

My name is Sal DeLuise, and I’m honored to be the Democratic candidate for Warwick City Council here in Ward 4. I’m writing to you as someone who has worked hard every day of my life, much like many of you. I’m proud to announce my candidacy because I believe that the values of hard work, dedication, and service to our community can help us build a stronger, more prosperous future.

As a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, I’ve learned the importance of smart financial management and long-term planning. That foundation, combined with my years of owning and running a business, has given me a unique understanding of what it takes to make Warwick a thriving community.

From the early mornings spent at my family’s bakery to the 12-hour days I put in now, I know what it means to be dedicated and driven. Serving on Warwick’s zoning board for the past six years has only deepened my commitment to seeing our city thrive. I’ve always believed in starting what you finish, and that’s a value I carry into this campaign.

Since 1997, I am the 3rd generation owner of a bakery in Providence established by my grandfather in 1938, and true to my roots in the Conimicut community, I operated a small satellite bakery in the village. So I know firsthand the challenges small business owners face, and I’m passionate about creating an environment where they can succeed. Supporting local businesses is key to a healthy economy, and I will work to ensure Warwick remains a place where small businesses can grow and thrive.

Education is another critical area for me. Our children’s future depends on the quality of their education, and I am committed to ensuring that the high school projects stay on budget and on time. We must invest in our schools and hold ourselves accountable so that Warwick’s students have every opportunity to succeed.

As someone who has served on Warwick’s zoning board for the past six years, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges our residents face when it comes to housing affordability. The cost of living continues to rise, and too many families are struggling to find homes they can afford. I will work to ensure that Warwick’s housing policies are fair and inclusive, promoting access to quality housing while keeping the character of our neighborhoods intact. Everyone in our community deserves a place they can call home, and I’m committed to making that a reality.

Over the next few months, I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible to hear your thoughts and concerns. This campaign is about all of us, and together, we can make a real difference in our community. I invite you to join me at our campaign kickoff event on Wednesday, October 23 at Lemongrass and share your vision for Warwick’s future.

Thank you for your time, your trust, and your support. I’m ready to work hard for you, just as I’ve done my entire life.

Sincerely,
Sal DeLuise
Endorsed Democrat for Warwick City Council
